Sensing the Surface Blog 3.

The painting I did came from the Mt Rushmore idea. one of the most famous statues in the world, the faces of the past presidents from the american citizens, USA! I used this idea but changed it and put four of my favourite hip hop rap artists in the world. Eazy-E on the far left, followed by Ice-cube, Dr Dre and last but not least my number one fovourite out of the four .. THE GAME! They are all born, raised and are from the same city 'Compton'. The platform I used is from an unused door panel, using multi-mixed acrylic paints "which would dry faster" I painted the background into looking like the sun setting, evening, afternoon looking and with that I mixed the paints with thick paste to make it stand out. For the mountain and faces of the Rap artists I used oil paint to paint them, black and white only with alot of blending included. I had to be steady and careful of the light and dark areas so they dont look different but like the light is coming/shining from the same direction aswell as the dark areas.
